Sad is not bad

Why are all our great songs sad?

Ask me to sing impromptu, and i cant remember one single happy song. They are either songs of loves long lost, or the songs of separation, songs of dreaming about better times.

I think we are touched more by "non happy" emotions that happiness.

I think when we are happy we just sail through it without much thought, we forget God, we forget meaning of songs, we forget everything and we just live.

But when we are not happy, we dig into the meaning of things, we want to know why life is hard, we want to sing about it, write about it, paint about it, to find a vent for our feelings.
Sadness spurs us on... and We make art. We dream. We think.

We are different not because we can communicate; we are different because we feel sadness deeply as an emotion.
