Beauty and the Beholder

While on our way back to Mumbai from Mahabaleshwar, Jaya n Ankit found an awesome point to stop. We went to the edge of a plateau and below us lay the verdant valley surrounded by the Ghats.

It made me feel small, it was so huge, humbling and beautiful.
And try as i may to capture it and take it away forever with me, the beauty eluded my lens.

I always get frustrated at my inability to make the picture look the way i am seeing it; it just doesn't look that great!
The picture cannot speak to the (passive) viewer the way that scene talks to me, it never humbles them the way looking "sakshat" at it does.

But maybe what i want to remember is how it made me feel.. what memories flooded back to me when i sat there, how happy i was, or how peaceful...

Ocean, my lens can never capture,
If only, you could see what i see,
if only, you could feel the rapture,
the humbling vastness, the bewitching beauty
