I am sure you all have at some point or the other seen a movie based on a book you lovvvved. I am sure that 75% of times you have hated the guts of the director for making such a chickensh*t version of the story.
a) they kill the best parts or modify them to fit in the timeline
Snowwhite and the Hunstman? I mean really? classic fairy tale gone horribly wrong. What does that Deer mean? who is the prince charming?
b) they chose the worst possible actors to portray the characters in the book
Snowwhile and the Huntsman? Kristen Stewart is only good to portray a constipated tree. Chris Hemsworth (dirty and uncouth) is trying to romance (?) a tree, its like watching a dog.
Yes my eyes got burnt when i watched this movie.
But even other movies fall into similar category.
Harry potter got the characters right they are the same in my head, but i hate them for modifying the plot to fit the time.
The Help did not get Aibileen's character to my liking, there was something off; but Minnie was spot on!
Twilight series' (yes! i have read the books & seen the movies) Bella is completely off. You know it might be an unpopular belief but Bella was supposed to be normal in the book. Quiet, thoughtful but normal; not fidgety, not constipated, not grimacy (if thats a word).
[No i am not having a Kristen Stewart hatefest, she is just playing the wrong roles really]
The only movie that does justice to the books is LoTR.
I like the movies better than the book. For one the book is such a heavy read, secondly the movie has trimmed out ONLY frills around the plot. Tom Bombadill for example. A lot of people make a lot of noise about it, but really it was the most boring part of the book for me.
Anyhoo, keep reading.
PS: i made caramel brownies today :)
